(TROY,
MI) – The City of
Troy’s annual classic car show, Troy
Traffic Jam: Chrome, Muscle and Music, will
roar into the Columbia Center for its third year on Sunday, August 1, from 10 am - 3 pm. The event will combine all of the fun and
excitement of traditional car shows with the addition of entertaining music and
delicious food.
Applications
from interested car owners are now being accepted. Vehicles from a variety of eras before 1974
will be featured at this exciting chrome-filled car show. The $15 fee for each vehicle includes goodie
bags, prizes and dash plaques. Applications
for advanced registration must be postmarked by July 26 for dropped off in
person by July 29. Registration will be available the day of the event, space
permitting, for $20. Download

“We had a
terrific turn out last year,” said the Director of Community Affairs for the
City of Troy, Cindy Stewart. “We saw a lot of support from our participants,
local sponsors and visiting car enthusiasts. As a fundraising event for the
Troy Historical Society, we managed to raise more than $50,000 to help with
their Heritage Campaign.”
A family
fun event, Troy Traffic Jam will feature hundreds of vehicles that will be
striving to win the coveted “Best of Show” title awarded based on votes from
the public. A number of additional
prizes are to be awarded for the top three cars in each class.
Come and
see shining chrome and gleaming paint as a variety of classic automobiles, hot
rods and muscle cars will be featured at the show, or take a glimpse at what
the future holds in store for the automotive industry with an assortment of
innovative concept cars. Also featured will be great music by DJ Bob Steel and
fabulous food for sale from local restaurants including Insalata
and Gateway Deli.
