(TROY,
MI) – The 38th
Annual Youth Recognition Awards Program presented by Troy Youth Assistance and
The Rotary Club of Troy honored 150 the community’s young people on April 21 at
the Athens High School Auditorium.
Community
youth were nominated by local school, religious, and community organizations
for the following categories: exceptional
service to others, achievement by an individual who has overcome personal
challenges and/or set an example to others, heroism/outstanding humanitarian
acts, exceptional service by an individual within a club or organization
Honorees
are being recognized with one of the following awards:
- Gold Star
Award: for making outstanding
contributions to their community by their actions and their efforts
- Silver
Star Award: for making excellent
contributions to their community by their actions and their efforts
- Rising
Star Award: for making good
contributions to their community by their actions and their efforts
Troy Youth
Assistance is committed to strengthening youth and families by preventing and
reducing juvenile delinquency, child neglect and child abuse through fostering
the involvement of citizen volunteers in activities and programs.
The Rotary
Club of Troy consists of more than 40 members from the Troy area committed to
volunteer service, locally and internationally, while benefitting from
fellowship and networking opportunities.
Through their motto, “Service Above Self,” the
group strives to meet the needs of the community and the world.
