“WALK MICHIGAN” OFFERS HEALTH BENEFITS AND CHANCE TO
WIN A TRIP TO MACKINAC ISLAND

(TROY, MI) – The Troy Parks and Recreation department is offering the “Walk Michigan” opportunity to improve health and fitness while also encouraging the enjoyment of the recreational facilities and park resources unique to Troy.  All walks are free, non-competitive and open to all ages.

The bonus – aside from the wonderful health benefits – includes the opportunity for each participant to be entered into a drawing to win a trip for two to Mackinac Island on Labor Day weekend to walk the bridge with the governor and several thousand walk enthusiasts.  This is an exclusive trip with special benefits provided only to those participating in the Walk Michigan program.

“People of all ages can join in a walking program and it is an excellent form of exercise,” said John Hug, Fitness Coordinator.  “Physical activity makes people stronger and more energetic, prevents weight gain, and helps to lower anxiety and stress.”
