Players Needed For Youth Basketball Leagues

(TROY, MI) - Girls and boys in grades 7 – 12 are invited to join in on fun and recreational basketball leagues offered by Troy Parks & Recreation Department. The fee for this league is $60 per participant and includes a tee shirt. The registration deadline is Nov. 25.

Practices are held one evening every week at local schools and games are played on Saturdays at either Troy High or Athens High School. Players will be contacted by a volunteer coach concerning their first practice. Certified basketball officials are assigned to this league. Practices begin Jan. 10. Games begin Jan. 24 and end in March.

Divisions are determined based on a participant’s current grade as of fall 2008. Participants must register in the appropriate grade. Grades may be combined if needed to form a league. Teams are formed by school and neighborhood, which may require some to be divided or combined. Registration after the deadline will place players on teams with openings (if available) and may not necessarily be placed with their school or neighborhood. Players may not stay with their same team from last year and transferring teams in not permitted.
