Troy Recreation Department Updates
Please send us an email with comments and suggestions to ParksAndRecOnline@troymi.gov.
Effective March 14, 2011, all Parks Services are now part of the Department of Public Works.
Reductions in Parks and Recreation services and programs have become necessary as a result of reduced funding. The following are recent changes:
Outdoor tennis instruction will be conducted by the Troy Racquet Club. Registration will be coordinated by the Racquet Club; look for more information in future Troy Today publications.
The youth tee ball program will be conducted by Troy Baseball Boosters. Visit www.troybb.org for additional information.
Sylvan Glen and Sanctuary Lake golf courses are managed by Billy Casper Golf. All lessons and programs will be conducted by BCG. Visit www.golftroy.com for further information.
The Lloyd A Stage Nature Center building will close to the public on May 28. The Troy Nature Society, a non- profit organization will conduct some programs at the facility. The grounds of the Nature Center will continue to be open to the public.
Permits for fields/courts (sand volleyball, tennis, baseball, and pickleball) will not be issued. Use will be on a first come first serve basis, except when utilized by department sponsored programs; Civic Center tennis courts will be utilized exclusively by tennis instructors as well as other select city/school sites occasionally.
