Troy Trails & Pathways
Troy currently has a series of trails and pathways for walkers, runners, bikes, skaters, wheelers and you-name-it. Have you used them? Even sidewalks serve the purpose of getting out or getting somewhere. The Troy Trails & Pathways Committee is a group of City employees and volunteers with a purpose in mind - establishing more trails & pathways for residents, workers and visitors.

Existing Local Trails & Pathways
- Paint Creek Trail - Located in northeast Oakland County and connecting Rochester, Rochester Hills, Oakland Township, Orion Township and Lake Orion. A compacted limestone surface meanders 9 miles through highlands, prairies and wetlands. Visit www.paintcreektrail.org
- Clinton River Trail - The 16 miles of surfaced and unsurfaced trails constructed on an abandoned railway grade pass through Rochester, Rochester Hills, Auburn Hills, Pontiac and Sylvan Lake. Visit www.clintonrivertrail.org
- West Bloomfield Trail - Part of the Rails to Trails project, this 4 mile trail passes through West Bloomfield, Orchard Lake and Keego Harbor. Visit www.westbloomfieldparks.org/parks/wb_park_wbtn.shtml
- Macomb Orchard Trail - a multi-use, non-motorized trail on 23 miles of abandoned railroad right-of-way in Northern Macomb County. The new trail also connects with the Stony Creek Metropark, Bloomer Park, and the Paint Creek Trail. Visit www.orchardtrail.org
- Metro Beach Metropark - features a one mile shoreline and a 1600 foot boardwalk on Lake St Clair. Suitable for hiking, biking and birding, there is a two mile flat paved trail in the Nature Center area. Visit www.metroparks.com/parks/pkmetrobeach.php
- Polly Ann Trail - Beginning in Orion Township and passing through Dryden, Oxford and Leonard, the trail is 14 miles of rough-grade suitable for hiking, horses and experienced bicyclists. Visit www.pollyanntrailway.org
- Lakes Community Trail - A linear multi-use non-motorized connection between the Huron Valley Trail and the West Bloomfield Trail, the Lakes Trail passes through Commerce, Wolverine Lake, Walled Lake and Wixom, and links municipal parks in each community. - Huron Valley Trail - Rails to Trails has converted 10 miles from South Lyon to Lyon Oaks Park at the Wixom boundary. This trail also provides connections to over 25 miles of adjoining paved trails. Visit www.oakgov.com/parksrec/program_service/trails_huron.html

Vision
Troy is a community with a culture that promotes its extensive non-motorized transportation network.
Mission
Our mission is to work with stakeholders to plan and promote a safe, sustainable, non-motorized transportation network that links the people and places of Troy.
Established in March 2007, the Troy Trails & Pathways Committee is a group of city employees and volunteers working to establish a city-wide trail and pathway system for residents, employees and visitors. The goal of the group is to link neighboring communities together through a series of paths and trails to create an extensive non-motorized transportation network.
How You Can Help
Development of a pathway system in Troy is a long-term project. It is anticipated that City funds, grants and donations will fund the pathway system. As of this date, the City has allocated $1,750,000 towards the project.
