Parent and Tot (ages 18 month to 2 years 11 month)
Spend a fun-filled 75 minutes, just you and your tot. Enjoy seeing your tot interact with other children his or her own age. A new theme is explored each week. Pasting and painting are presented along with rhythm band, singing, stories, and snack time. No infants or siblings of any age allowed.
Parent and Tot Evening & Saturday Classes
This class is designed for the busy parent who would like to spend quality time with their toddler, age 18 months-3 years, in a nursery school setting. A new theme is explored each week and activities will include songs, stories, rhythm band and more. No infants or siblings of any age allowed.
It's Fun Being 3 (ages 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 year old with parent)
In this class a parent stays to interact and encourage socialization with their toddler. Activities will revolve around a weekly theme. Painting and/or pasting will be included in art projects. Other activities include circle time, songs, finger plays, rhythm band, and snack time. Children are encouraged to play independently or with other children while a parent remains in the classroom. As a pre-requisite the child should have taken at least one semester of Rainbow Parent and Tot Nursery. This enables the child to become familiar with the classroom setting. This class is a lead up for Rainbow Preschool (3-5 years).
Our learning environment
Rainbow Preschool takes place in a bright, colorful and loving environment and is taught by trained and experienced staff. In early 2003 we moved in to our new classrooms which feature: new furniture and toys, computer stations, approximately 2200 square feet of learning/growing space, fenced in play equipment adjacent to our rooms, unisex restrooms within the classroom, and separate entry for easy drop off and pick up of preschoolers.
STAFF
All of our instructors have college degrees with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education and/or preschool instructional experience. They attend training and educational sessions throughout the school year. These teachers enjoy working with preschoolers and provide a loving and nurturing learning environment for the students. All of our staff has passed the State of Michigan background check as well as first aid/CPR and staff orientation.
How to Register
Registration is four times a year by mail-in, drop off in person, or online. Refer to a current Troy Today for registration dates and class availability.
