Personnel Board
Pursuant to Chapter 11 of the Troy City Code, the Personnel Board consists of five members appointed by City Council for three-year terms. The members of the Board shall be persons familiar with the application of merit principles to public employment. No member of the Board shall be employed by the City; or be a member of any local, state or national committee of a political party or an official or member of a committee in any partisan political club or organization, nor shall any member hold or be a candidate for any governmental elective office. Members of the Board shall serve without compensation, but funds will be provided for reasonable and necessary expenses. The Personnel Board shall advise the City Manager on matters of personnel policy and problems of personnel administration, including personnel rules, job classification and pay plans as they apply to classified employees. Members will represent the public interest in the improvement of personnel administration for classified employees. The Personnel Board elects its own chairperson.
